Hello all,

introducing myself: I am half-Dutch, half-English, living in Diemen (just outside Amsterdam). I have been working on my MA thesis on Jean Rhys for over a year now and counting, because I keep reading unrelated books... Meanwhile I work part-time in an English language bookshop. All in all I conform to all the classic characteristics of a bookworm, and am glad to have found a community of like minded obsessives.

(and, of course, i like the sound of my own voice)

Greetings,

Sarah,

Diemen

Hi Sarah! I see you and anna have met. :)

If you've not recorded before, take a look at the Newbie Guide to Recording. It's in our wiki, linked to at the top of the page. Lotsa useful tips on microphones, software, quality checks...

I'd like to encourage you to start with something short, such as the Weekly Poetry or other public domain poem. That way, we can do a quickie sound check and make sure you don't have any weird technical issues before you begin on something larger.

Have a blast, and give a shout if you have any questions!
