Welcome! I enjoyed the demo. 8-)

FYI, the "demo" we ask for isn't an audition, but to make sure your file type, tech specs, volume, etc. are correct. We take anyone as long as they're understandable and can get their tech specs correct.

Would you mind uploading that audio file (as MP3) to the Tests folder here: http://upload.librivox.org/

The login and password are these:

Thanks much!

Thanks!

Volume is way too low. It's at 67.1 dB, and we aim for 89 dB.

Bit rate is 192 kbps, but we require 128 kbps.

There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. If you're game, you can download it and use it to check the volume and other settings. It's here: http://cgjennings.ca/checker/

Use the Experimental-0.9 alpha version. :)

i use soundooth as an add-on from my graphic arts student package. so i can fix it right away. http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tg/Test2_SarahHoward.mp3
it probably needs the levels raised again.

Volume is now 86.2, which is on the low side of acceptable.

Does Soundbooth have a compression feature? It would be nice if you could compress the peaks down a bit, then amplify a little more.

I'm headed out the door - I'll catch your reply later. :)
