Hi everybody!

my name is Eva, I'm a German native speaker based in Germany's lovely capital of Berlin.
I am truly excited I've found LibriVox. I love reading out loud, sometimes recording poems or short stories for friends. I can't believe I've never searched the internet for projects like this. What was I thinking?! (Nothing much obviously...)

So, from what I read I best get started with the 1-minute test. I'll record that bit as soon as possible and post it to the according thread. There should be a spare mic somewhere at the office, I'll borrow it for the first few recordings. :-)

Have a nice day!

Welcome Eva. It's best to try to get a USB mic. They have better quality then the old analog (round plug) type.

Hope you will have fun here.

Hi Eva

If you can't find a microphone immediately, please be aware that you can make reasonable voice recordings on the following devices:
Portable digital voice recorders
Cell phones
Some portable MP3 players
Ipod touch

None of these devices are ideal, but with some of them the recording quality is surprisingly good.

Please check the following project for some interesting samples:
