I have been informed that I have the distinct honour of being the 2000th member. It is all very exciting and Anita asked me to post an intro here...

I'm a homeschooling mom to five beautiful children and wife to computer techie, database guru, Kirby. We hail from the Canadian Prairies, but my Dh actually telecommutes to California.

We've already listened to Black Beauty and Anne of Green Gables and are working on Robinson Crusoe. They are absolutely beautiful!!

A couple of years ago we put out a few public domain books on CD. The time commitment was HUGE and so we just couldn't keep up. :-)

I think this is an amazing idea and hopeful we can be a part of it...

I have a personal interest in children's books and I think my DH would love to do some Jules Verne.

Looking forward to meeting more of you...

Welcome, Jennifer - I am in awe of anyone who can homeschool, and especially 5 children; fantastic! I only have four children and think I'd go stark raving mad if I had them home that long each day, so my hat goes off to you.

Hope to hear your voice around the place soon :D

Another homeschooler! How does it go in Canada? I homeschool my two (easy compared to five!) in rural central California, near Yosemite National Park if you're familiar with that.

We too have listened to Black Beauty and really enjoyed it. I HIGHLY recommend listening to kayray's The Secret Garden and A Little Princess with your kids, if you like those stories. She does a great job. Even my son was interested, though he pretended not to be. :)

My 10-year old son is a homeschooler; I was one as well and am now wife of a computer techie guru, too! :)

Welcome, welcome!

My primary interest here is children's literature, and I was thinking that maybe it's time for a new collaborative project... any suggestions?

Sorry, Starlite. I missed it...it's not listed on the Children's Lit page.

I'm downloading it as we speak!

I just posted Swiss on the children's lit page now so everyone can find it easier. I'm glad you pointed that out. :)

Speaking of the CL page, I also noticed that most of the L.M. Montgomery books also haven't appeared there yet and we have quite a few of those finished.

Thanks for the reminder... I updated those... we have them down in the older children's list since Anne is older through most of the books...
