Hi, new here...kinda happened across these forums when I was looking for classic audio lit for my daughter. I am Lina, have been on the stage (Yes, luvvy :) ) in the UK for over 20 years and would love to volunteer my services for any reading. What a wonderful project :D

How infinitely splended, Lina! Please don't let my enthusiasm bowl you over, like a puppy at the door. But reading your brief intro I instantly imagine your involvement in Dramatic Works -- do you love Shaw? I hope we'll record every script he's written! They're all in the public domain. Ooops, now I appear to be two puppies at the door.

Ahem.
So glad you've found us!
May I recommend our LibriVox Anniversary poem as a first project? It's a sweet poem that we'd like as many voices as possible to read for the one-year anniversary of LibriVox, August 10 and thereabouts.
The poem is here:

An overview of the whole LV process is here:

and our best guide to our brand new recording artists (:D) is here:

I hope your recording setup needs no wrestling or taming or building from scratch (though most of us had to experience all three and will comisserate if you must, too).

This is your thread. Please keep us posted (that word echoes here) about your progress, questions, and general astonishment at all that's going on. :D

Anita
who is sincerely delighted to welcome you

PS--I saw that your introduction was accidentally attached as a response to someone else's intro, so I used my nifty administrative button set (generally referred to as super powers 8) ) to split off this separate thread for you. If you'd like to change the title of it, just click the "edit" button in the upper right corner of your first post above, and change the "Subject" field at the top of the edit window.

Welcome, welcome Lina,

I'm looking forward to hearing your recordings, maybe doing some listening for edit for you.
