Just found this site courtesy of an item in the Budget Travel magazine that suggested downloading your recordings for trips. I am a lifelong avid reader and have instilled this love in my children. I also read aloud to elementary schools here in Houston . I would love to contribute to this worthwhile project - how about some more Dickens?

We've got two Dickens novels in the works:
Oliver Twist

Both are fully subscribed --- however, we always have some dropouts, so you might get a chance to read after a while. And, of course, we'll need proof listeners for those books, too! In fact, we need proof listeners for several works right now: http://librivox.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=21
And I'm sure we'll start some more Dickens soon.
We usually suggest that new readers start with a poem or other very short woork, to get the kinks out of their recording set-up and get some fast feedback. Check the Short Works section:

Our weekly poem is the dreadful "Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay" -- an entertainingly bad poem for April Fools Day!

There are lots of ways in which you can help LibriVox. Though we'd love to have you read, and kayray mentioned several good options for getting started, we've also got something which caters to folks who just wish to listen!
Called Listeners & Editors Wanted, it's a place where you can download the newest LibriVox works and listen to them before they're released to the public. All we ask is that you listen for editing mistakes, long periods of silence, repeated words and phrases - that sort of thing. We'd like to get them fixed before we make the works public.

There's a budget travel magazine? Hmmm... will have to look into that.
