Hello there.

I'm Ulrik, from Denmark or Sweden or thereabout. I've been looking for a site like this, so I'm glad to have found you. Now all I need is some recording software to get started. Any suggestions?

Hi Ulrik, welcome to librivox!

This page should get you started:

But just let us know if you have further questions :)

Hi Ulrik! Welcome to LV. Your username must be a pain to type over and over again :)

There is a real wide variety of software out there. It kindof comes down to what you like using. The guide is a pretty good place to start.

Well let us know if you need any other help.

Ulrik, can I ask you where you got the idea for your username?

Welcome to LibriVox, Ulrik! I see that Kayray has already pointed you in the direction of the LibriVox Wiki; it's a great source for answers to all the basic questions.

We'd love to have you read in English, but it'd be really good to have some readings in Danish or Swedish too! There's some work in those languages already listen in Project Gutenberg.

Danish: http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/da

Swedish: http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/languages/sv

It's great to have you here, Ulrik - it's always nice to hear a fresh voice in the mix!

Pyromancy is the practice of using fire or flames for divination.

Pyromancer was a fantasy novel that was popular in the last decade.

Oh, I don't know. Just thought it sounded cool. As raouf points out it suggests some kind of fire mage, though I've never actually heard it used - only necromancer and neuromancer. I used to have problems with usernames because somebody else always had them already, but not since I picked this one - that's why I tagged the o00o on :)
