Hi! I've been lurking on the forum off and on for a month or two now. I originally heard about Librivox from Brenda Dayne of the Cast-On podcast (hi, Brenda!) I do a podcast called The FiberCast at http://fiberarts.typepad.com/fibercast about fiber, spinning your own yarn, etc.

I'm hoping to read some Edgar Rice Burroughs books, and I'm quite willing to do them solo. I did the Yeats poem for St. Patrick's Day, and am ready to read another poem, chapter, etc to prepare for a solo reading.

I am a former computer programmer / sysadmin who is now a stay-at-home mom. DH and I have 3 kids (one out on his own, two still at home), 6 dogs, 3 cats, and 8 alpacas. I am totally addicted to audiobooks, my iPod, and sci fi. I was actually listening to audiobooks via audible.com about two years before I got an iPod, and was thrilled to find Librivox! I look forward to being able to contribute.

Hi Caroline, welcome!

We do have an ERB book in the works! (A Princess of Mars) It's fully subscribed, so it's in the "Readers Found" section -- but you could drop a PM to Stephan (he's in charge of that one) and let him know you're eager to read, and would like first crack at any orphans he might end up with. We always get a few readers who sign up and then disappear, and Stephan would probably be glad to give you the leftovers!

War of the Worlds is in that section too -- if you're interested in that one you could let Stephan know as well. (He seems to be our Classic Sci-Fi guy :)

Happy reading!

Oh, and if you ever get the urge to take on a full project on your own, we don't object to duplicate recordings!
