My Name's Erin, I go to school in Northfield,MN and live west of Minneapolis, MN when I'm not in school. I'm a double major in English and Theater (in other words well suited for this project) and I stumbled here because of my obsessive desire to both knit and read at the same time (really difficult). This desire brought me to podcasting and cast-on and then here because one part of my quest involves listening to a lot of audiobooks. So now i want to try my hand at recording, and maybe give a bit back for all the audiobooks I've listened to.

Thanks Kara. I'm really excited to get going. And I ahve to say that I absolutely adore your podcast and very much like your choice of books and subject matter. I'm waiting with baited breath for The Secret Garden to be finished.

Oh, I'm so glad you're enjoying it! There's really no need to wait for the end of The Secret Garden if you don't want to:

Erin, you will find lots of knitters here. Kara claims she can knit and edit her readings at the same time. I can only do one or the other. :)

What do you knit? We have a knitting thread in the off-topic area.

Welcome!

Paula

I've knit a bit of everything, 6 Harry Potter Scarves, several stuffed Pygmy Puffs, I'm working on a Wealey Sweater (can you tell I'm a bit of a Harry Potter Addict) and then there's various hats, scarves, wrist warmers, and Finger Puppets. And a pair of mittens, a muff (that was a fun pattern), an Aligator puppet, a wig, part of another sweater (current project), part of a baby blanket (I didn't finish it in time for the baby to still be a baby). And I'm going to stop there, before I bore everyone into oblivion.

I suppose this ought to go in the knitting thread, but I can't resist asking where you got all these Harry Potter patterns. I am a huge Harry fan myself.
