Hurray, more west coasters. I'm sure Kara's feeling less lonely If you get a chance throw yourself on the map
If you're ready to get started books are located here
http://librivox.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=2
and short poems and works are located
http://librivox.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=19
We usually recommend starting with something short if you're unfamiliar with the recording process, since it doesn't take too much time. But if you just want to jump in, we can use help in the book section.
Welcome to LV!

Hey fellow Washingtonians, neat!
I'm in Seattle and Deana Duncan (Gwendolyn in Importance of Being Earnest) is on Whidbey Island.
Welcome Damina! West Coast rocks! And reads!

Yeah! I saw a v-shape of them flying east toward the Cascades this afternoon! Or maybe I was just dazzled by that bright thing in the sky that we haven't seen in awhile! How soon you forget about... sun!Izze wrote:Yay, Seattlites are flocking! ^.^

I live about 25 miles northeast of Seattle on the road to Steven's Pass over the Cascade Mountains. It's cool to find so many people from Washington, amusing themselves and one another with contributions to this marvelous undertaking at Librivox. I'm glad to begin to be a part of it. It's been incredibly rainy, and rainy days are perfect for reading!

Great, Christine! The more, the merrier. I have some good friends up your way in Monroe and Snohomish. I manage the climbing program for the Everett branch of the Mountaineers, too. Many a time, I've been in your neck of the woods or passing through on the way to Wenatchee or Leavenworth area trailheads.
And you're quoting John Muir in your signature, too! One of my favorite books is by him-- The Mountains of California. Wait! That's got to be in the public domain!
Gotta go now...

Hrrm, sounds like there are enough of us 'round for a LibriVox gathering in Washington. Has this been done before?
