I'm Melanie, a service-based business-owning, homeschooling mom of eight, two are grown and gone and six are still living at home. I love to read, it doesn't matter the genre as long as it's well written. I've read aloud to my kids for years and figured I could put that skill to good use.

Also, my family has also used Librivox to help my children learn to read by pairing Gutenberg books with Librivox recordings. That tactic has worked exceptionally well and now I'm happy to return the favor.

Wow - sounds like your life is full. Our 5-year-old granddaughter was round yesterday and wore us both out. I can't imagine
having 6 at home! Hopefully you'll find a genre of book you enjoy reading.

I'm a retired engineer/scientist living in Cambridge UK.
I love librivox because participating has caused me to read works that I wouldn't normally touch (e.g. poetry).
And I've enjoyed playing character parts in dramatic readings.
