Quick question: did you just edit the Winchilsea poem, or did you re-record it entirely?

I just edited it. Why? I hope there is not another problem with it.

No, no, it's just a question of whether I need to proof-listen it all again, or just the edited bit. :)

A Game of Chess, by Mortimer Collins (1827-1876)
my copy came from Victorian Songs, collected by Edmund H. Garnett, 1895, which has been cleared for Project Gutenberg and is currently going through Distributed Proofreaders. Alternately, http://books.google.com/books?id=vrMOAAAAIAAJ has the poem. I couldn't find any good online source.

By the way, the standard for short poetry file names is the title of the poem (or an abbreviated version, all one word, or separated by underscores - you've been doing this already), author's name (last name only), and your initials, each section separated by underscores.

Pox upon me! I knew that. More brain in backwards or gone missing problems. It shall never happen again. :hmm:

The first three are fine, but the last one will need to be moved to the Long Poetry Collection (we define short poems as being under 5 minutes long). The current collection is full, but I'm sure they'll open a new one soon.

Got them both, thanks.

Got it, thanks. How would you like to be listed in the catalogue? And do you have a url you'd like your name linked to?

'The thunder mutters louder and more loud...'
John Clare

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/200708/thunder_clare_drb.mp3

The only online text I can find is on googlebooks. Perhaps not ideal for linking to, but at least it proves I didn't make up the poem myself. :D

'O Wert Thou in the Storm'
John Clare

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/200708/o_wert_thou_clare_drb.mp3

I can't find an online version of this one. It's listed in the contents of the googlebook above, but the page with the text isn't available.

Here's an alternate source that makes it easier to get to the poem: http://prosfilaes.googlepages.com/agameofchess
