Please raise the volume on the whole recording by 3 to meet the Librivox requirements. Then reupload and post here. If you have any questions just post them.
Thanks!

Hi, so I have amplified by 3db and re-uploaded to:

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/scandal_08_bridges_128kb.mp3

But perhaps you can clarify something for me, since this is the second time in a row a PL is telling me that volume is too low by 3db. How can I know when my volume is high enough? I tried re-reading librivox wiki pages on recording, and also watching a chenevert youtube vid on volume levels in audacity. But I still don't have a clear idea of how to know when my volume is right. I just have the vague picture that I want to avoid the waveform being cut off, and I want to avoid it being too small (like between -0.2 and +0.2 for example). But that still leaves a wide range in the middle. And you seem to have some specific criterion for average volume or something?

Great question Ted. There are lots of Librivox specs that must be met with each recording. You can download the free app: Checker here: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/ and run each recording through by dragging the mp3 file over to it. It even has an information tab to tell you what dB your recording is at. Then you use the Effects>Amplify tool after highlighting the whole. The whole recording should be around 89 dB. Another neat tool is to use Loudness Normalization and set it at -19 LUFS and apply after highlighting the whole recording.
Hope this helps,
Christine

27:01 Missing sentence "I wish I could" and remove the word "but" before "If it was anything like as -"
22:40 should be "chimed in Mrs. Fawcett"; I heard "chimed in Miss Fawcett"
17:16 delete the word "young"; should be "to the first nice rich man"
16:50 should be "Grace isn't a girl who wants luxuries"; I heard "Grace isn't a girl who wants for luxuries"
11:01 should be "George would have shattered them"; I heard "George would have settled them"
9:16 should be "pigging it up"; I heard "prigging it up"
4:13 should be "suggested an entire lack of any decent sentiment"; I heard "suggested any lack of decent sentiment."
Thanks,

Section 2 Just 2 notes:
26:03 should be She's the dearest, kindest, jolliest soul in the world; I heard " She's the dearest, kindest, gentlest soul in the world"
Please leave 5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.

No, really the voices were great! Very distinct and added to the enjoyment of the listening immensely! I love to PL!
