1.57

MW gives the title as The Fool of Bethesda but I have read it as Pool :)

Hello Kitty,

I would be interested in recording and producing (I use Audacity) "Isolated Affection" if it is still open.

Cheers,
Janice

Hello Janice, welcome to our forum fun and especially to the Rover project. I'm always happy to hear new voices in this magazine 8-) so cool you chose this one to start out with. Thank you for your interest.

I see you already passed your technical test  so I'll assign you the story right away.

Here is your personal reader page, where all your projects will be listed by and by: https://librivox.org/reader/16730
If you want another reader name, please let me know, and I can still change that. Some people prefer their full real name, or another pseudonym. Whatever you like.

Since you are new to recording, please read carefully through the first post, where you will find all the details on how exactly to read the intro/outro, title and how to name the finished file.

If there are still questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Have fun with your first official LV recording.

Here is Section 3:

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/rover0125_03_various_128kb.mp3

Run time is 11:02

Please note, at the end of Page 386, bottom of Column 2, there is a blank space in the source material. I imagine 4-5 words may have once been here. I searched several websites to find another version of this story so I could read this sentence in its entirety but could not locate another version anywhere. Instead I just skipped the few words that remained in that one sentence. In my opinion the loss of that sentence did not hurt the story at all.

Please advise if you think otherwise.

Take care,

Greg

Thank you, Greg and sorry I didn't notice the missing words right away. I do have another source for such occasions.

What a tragic story :( I so much wished a little happiness in Ellen's future life but it wasn't to be.

Very sensitively narrated, I really enjoyed it.

Could you just please edited these few things:

> at 0:34: "the little hunch-backed girl" – sorry, my fault, I wrote "hump-backed" in the MW, I changed it now, it should be "hunch"

> at 7:30: concerning the missing sentence, I found another source, where the sentence is at least partially seen (with lots of magnifying), and I think it should run: "Your good aunt, with her beautiful Mary, is a less happy mother than me, Ellen."

> at 8:02: "her sensitive nature" – you say "spirit", which only comes a line later

thank you
