The Island of Doctor Moreau, by H. G. Wells (1866 - 1946)
The Island of Doctor Moreau by H. G. Wells follows shipwreck victim, Edward Prendick, as he explores a strange island his rescuer, Montgomery, has brought him to. The island’s host, Moreau, is a scientist whose life purpose is to push the limits of science, creating strange humanoid animals. Prendick wrestles with morality as his hosts continue their strange experimentations. (Summary by Veronica Mead)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

This will be version #4 in the catalog.

That's OK, but I wanted to make sure you knew that, in case you don't want to record something that has already been done a couple times. :)

I'm okay with it! I'm trying to start out with a solo that isn't incredibly long and with an author I'm familiar with. Then I will consider branching out!

I'll MC this for you. I love this book. :)
I'l PM you instructions on how to access and update the MW.
You will need to add a summary at some point before it goes to the catalog.
I'll leave you here for a bit to attract a proof listener.
Good luck!

Hi Veronica,
May I be your DPL for this? It is such a great book. I love mad scientist stories. :D

Hi Veronica,
I listened to the first four. This is going to be fun!
PL Notes:
Section 1- reduce the opening silence to 1 second
Section 2- reduce the opening silence to 1 second
Section 3- reduce the opening silence to 1 second.
Mike bumps at 2:09:39 and 2:22
Section 4- reduce the opening silence to 1 second
@1:20 I hear 'indistinctively'. The text has “staring at him instinctively as I did so.” You may want to update it.
Thanks,
Amy
