Just a couple of comments...
- your volume is fine, but don't let it get any lower (I see you have been introduced to our Checker program)
- the DC offset is rather high, some systems cause this (no one knows why) but easily fixed with Effects/Normalize
- a quality comment... there are a few plosives in your reading, caused by breath noises into the mic, you can try positioning the mic at an angle to your mouth to limit these
- the silences both beginning (1/2 - 1 second) and ending (~5 seconds)
That is a lot to take in all at once, but soon you will become a pro at this.
and lastly... Please let me know under what name you would like to appear in the LV catalog and if you have one, we can put your personal URL link on your catalog page too.
You can view your brand new LV Catalog page by clicking your forum name in the Magic Window.

Thank you Erin, good reading, but the volume is low at 83.8 dB, You should aim for your waveforms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:erieston wrote: ↑September 10th, 2021, 9:02 pm Always love the weekly poems! Here's mine:

You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker You will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK) (all the other tech specs are there also)

Thanks so much for the feedback.
I don't understand what
- the DC offset is rather high, some systems cause this (no one knows why) but easily fixed with Effects/Normalize
means. Can you give me some details about what I need to look for and how to change it?
I will have a go at moving the mic.
Name in the catalogue as Bertha Mason
--is a personal URL a website if I have one? I don't so that is no problem.
Will keep working on it!
All the best
