I forgot to tell you that I've actually been to Fryeburg, Saco, and Lovewell Pond, but I had no idea of any of the things mentioned in this reading! Very interesting for me :)
wow how cool that you've actually been to the locations of the story. 8-) You haven't stopped by a pub where the brown mug was standing prominently on the shelf, by any chance ? ;)

Such an interesting story, though I was shocked when Joe simply wanted to shoot the dog of the house  I hope he never married Sally

Absolutely PL ok and very engagingly narrated. Thank you so much. I hope to hear you in another Rover one day again. :)

oh wow, yes that carnage in the Spanish castle was awful  The soldiers' behaviour was atrocious.

The two sections are perfectly PL ok, thank you, Jim. Now listening to the longer section...

awww, well, normally I don't much like these satirical attacks on other people :( but there were some witty things among the meaner ones ;) And I'm sure the British wrote just as many mean things about the Americans

Nearly perfect, Jim  You only missed the final end-of-book disclaimer, since this is the last section of the magazine.

thank you, Greg, wonderful narration as well. But what a sad story, I nearly wept with the poor man in the end :(

But it's absolutely PL ok. :)

Thank you, Sonia. It was a sad story. He was one of those countless unsung heroes who fill our world that few people every really know about.

It was a pleasure to read as well. Sad, but heart-warming.

Take care and thank you again!

So section 2 is up for grabs again. Since it's the last section we are all waiting for, of course it would be cool if someone could give a faster turn-around. :9:

I just got my covid booster shot today, so my arm is a little sore and I can't get to sleep. But here is Section 2--I liked it (I have been to Pensacola a number of times, but I didn't witness any of this--probably a thing of the past):

it sounds like a cool festival though. You might not have arrived at the right time to witness it ;)

All perfectly PL ok and nicely narrated, thank you, Jim, for the ultra fast turn-around. Now we can catalogue this little gem.

A big thank you to our small group of readers for this issue: Alan, Jim, Greg and Gini as our only female touch this time. :)

Will post the link once it's done
