IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Since I plan to record each poem individually, I wonder if it is okay to record the disclaimer as in the weekly poetry collections:
“[Poem title] by E. E. Cummings, read for librivox.org by scotty smith, [poem], end of poem”
And the the last section adding “End of XLI Poems by E. E. Cummings”

OK, your MW is up, and Larry is in as DPL! It is fine to read the shorter, poetry disclaimer for this project, just make sure to do the standard, long intro for the first section.

As soon as I know that everyone is on board, I will move us!

I quit
Just kidding.

Well, there's no right way to read any poet, especially Cummings.
We had an event in our speech contests called "Oral Interpretation." Poems, maybe a bit of prose, put together around a theme. It was the "interpretation" part that was the fun and challenge. Your approach is just finel

I think something is inevitably lost when reading cummings aloud because the arrangement of lines and words are so much a part of his poetry. But, I think it is a worthwhile attempt and I'm glad to be along for the ride.

The intros and outros are exactly what they should be.

Glad to mark these PL OK

Thank you so much for listening and staying! I’ll try not to overthink it and see what comes out :D
Maybe now that these poems are public domain we’ll see some in the weeklies—be neat to hear different interpretations.

I uploaded 4-6. Even though these poems are short I don’t want to race through them. They are like a little dessert :D
