Terror Out of Space, by Leigh Douglass Brackett (1915 - 1978)

This project is now in our catalog at https://librivox.org/terror-out-of-space-version-2-by-leigh-douglass-brackett/

Volunteers outside the USA: Leigh Douglass Brackett died in 1978. This person's work may still be protected by copyright in countries where copyright duration is determined by the author's death date. In Europe this is 70 years; in Canada it is 50 years; and in Australia it is 70 years for authors who died after 1955.
"An eerie story of a silver land beneath the black Venusian seas. A grim tale of brooding terror whirling out of space to drive men mad, of a menace without name or form, and of the man, Lundy, who fought the horror, his eyes blinded by his will. For to see the terror was to become its slave—a mindless automaton whose only wish was to see behind the shadowed mysterious eyelids of "IT". From the publishers blurb about this story in Planet Stories, 1944 where it was first given to the public. (Summary by Publisher)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Part 3 needs the volume increased. Checker said that the volume was a 85.8 dB. Also, not a big deal right now, but your file name has reynolds for the author's last name, instead of brackett.

Sure thing Ann. I'll get on those fixes tonight.

I have fixed the volume on part 3. The file names are indeed wrong on the first three; don't know how that happened but will fix them in validation. I would try renaming them and replacing 'em now but will surely cause problems so it is safer just to wait to validation so there will only be one of each. If that did not make sense, just ignore this. I know my limitations!

It makes perfect sense, that would be when I would make that change as well. Much easier to take care of it with one push of a button!

Part 3 is now PL OK, and I will listen to parts 4 and 5 tonight! Thanks Phil!
