I'm surprised you could not assign the reader to the new section. I'll ask other MCs about that.

edit: Did you put 04 not 4 as the section number?

Yes I did. Thanks for checking into it for me.

Chapter 03-2 The North Pole, Part 2

Buchan is a straightforward, easy-to-read author who tells a good story. Perhaps that's because he also wrote mysteries (39 steps, Greenmantle, etc.) which necessarily are aimed at the, um, "popular" market. 8-)

It's a great story...

The number in the filename should be 04. Reupload with the corrected filename and change the link in the MW. I just noticed that the filename for section 3 also needs to be corrected (03 not 03-1). Again reupload file with the corrected filename and then change the link in the MW.

Okay, fixed, thanks. Don't know what I was thinking. The MW should be right, now.

Do you think that's why I couldn't assign myself as reader to the new section? Still puzzled about that.

Steve

Edit: I still "don't have permission to access" the project screen. Do I need that to add my name to a section?

Thanks for correcting the filenames.

No, that is done on the Section Compiler page. At some point though the Project Screen page can only be accessed by the MC.

PL of Sections 0-4 is okay.
I've great admiration for these explorers who ventured out for years and usually to unknown destinations. I struggle to navigate with Google Maps

I have the same problem. That's why I use Gaia GPS as my main navigator.

PL of section 5 is fine.

There is something truly unreal about seeing snow in Africa! And sadly climate change makes it disappear ever more quickly.

I used Gaia for some interesting cross-country hiking in Oregon and it worked well!

Section 06, The South Pole, Part 1

Dave, FYI: Chapter 05 of the book is another very long one; I've broken it into two approximately equal parts, Sections 06 and 07. This time I had no trouble assigning myself as reader. Don't know what went wrong before, but it seems under control now. Cheers.

Thank you, Susanne. I hope you're enjoying the adventures; I sure am.

I think you, as DPL, get to mark PL OK in the Magic Window. I understand LV frowns on a Reader marking his own efforts as "OK." Can't understand why.

Dave: Do you get some sort of award when you make your 25,000th post?
