Yep, these are really short chapters!
Thanks for you reading. Stay tuned for your proof listening reports.

Chapter 21 / A Race For Life:
https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/littlejoeotter_21_burgess_128kb.mp3
Duration: 03:18
PL OK. Clearly read with great animation!

Advisory: The checker reports "a moderate level of background noise", which sounds like a computer fan, and is at about -50dB.
You don't need to take any action here, because it doesn't interfere with comprehension. But if you do want to polish your technique,
you might try adding noise reduction to the next recording you do.
Here's a video explaining the technique: https://youtu.be/KsFkmvF-9d0

Kiadawel wrote: July 2nd, 2021, 1:07 am Two more ready to go -- I think. In editing Chapter 23 I found a spot where I'd said "had" where the text said "has" -- is this a big enough oops to record over? If so, I'll fix that when I re-record Chapter 25 (as it turns out, my kids were being louder outside than I realized for that last one).

Regardless, Chapter 24 should be good to go!

Chapter 23 / The Setting of the Traps

Nicely read. PL OK.

As to your question, this project has Standard PL, defined as:
"In general, we ask for standard listening -- repeats and gaps:
Listen for repeated words or passages that the reader likely intended to edit out.
Note any long pauses or bad background noises that disrupt the flow of your listening pleasure.
Note that the intro and outro has the correct wording as noted in the first post of the project thread, and 5 seconds of silence at the end.
If the recording seems too loud or too quiet, please note that as well.
It is NOT necessary for you to follow along with the text; just listen as you would normally."

So, I am unlikely to notice a "had" vs a "has", because I would assume that's what the author wrote.
If you think it damages comprehension of the story, by all means correct it, but I personally wouldn't.

PL OK. I didn't notice the children in the background.
BTW, I listen at about 1.4x speed, so you were talking really fast :0).
