Ah, sorry, I didn't see that link there. I was in a hurry, and I didn't notice it. My bad.

I hope it helps. It would be great to solve the issue so this background noise doesn't take anything away from your narration.
Thanks,

Lector, do you want to try and fix it one more time, after looking at those links or do you want to stay with what you have?

Thanks Jennifer,

It is PL ok.

There is a bit of a rumble between 2:24 and 2:28 but I think it will be ok as is. You don't need to fix it.

Okay, thanks so much, James! I'm not sure what that would have been. Still improving the area I record in, so it could have been something from the other room.

I noticed in the videos that Phil used a tool called "Noise Removal." I don't have that tool for my particular copy of Audacity, but I do have "Noise Reduction." Would my recording be acceptable for cataloging?

P.S. Should I try getting a new copy of Audacity? I don't know how I can get the Noise Removal tool.

Hi Lector,
You are all set. "Noise reduction" is what you need. Maybe they renamed it since that video was made.
Thanks,
Amy

Hey Lector, how is it going?

Are you having any luck cleaning up the background noise on that recording?

You have possibly learned by now, that you want to apply the effect Noise reduction, before you apply the effect Replay Gain to adjust the volume.

Hopefully you have a copy of the raw recording.

Not sure of the protocol for two stories by one reader in the same collection, but here is another if I may:

"The Thing in the Truck"
Author: Darius John Granger (PG main page says Stephen Marlowe, but opening the story shows the true author)
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf080_thingintruck_granger_jlc_128kb.mp3
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65676
Time: 25:27

Also, I've discovered noise reduction since submitting my first story (The Eyes Have It). Can I re-submit it with the noise reduction applied?

Thanks!
