Thank you! Everything is fine, except the volume is a bit on the low side. If you could amplify it a bit and reupload, that would be great! :thumbs:

Thank you! There is one missed edit/repeat at 13:58

"But he's not as bad as the artist," exclaimed the monkey, who was still trying to stand up straight."

Make sure you cut out the first version when you said "monkey". The one with "donkey" is the correct one. :-)

Grrrrrrrr! How is it possible to listen and edit your recording 100 times and STILL have one error escape me? Thanks for catching it and letting me know!

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi, I'm interested in reading "The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter" & "Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, by L. Frank Baum" if acceptable? Thanks.

Hi,

"Peter Rabbit" would be fine for this collection. "Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz" is a long book, so it would have to be done as a separate project. :-)

Thank you. You did a nice job, however there are some issues, mostly technical that need to be fixed.

First, the volume is much to high, and needs to be brought down.

The bit rate needs to be 128kbps and constant. Yours is 102kbps and variable. Here is a video on how to fix your bit rate: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/14838

There is also some background noise that could use a light noise cleaning. Some videos on noise cleaning: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Instructional_Videos#Noise_Removal

This is why we highly recommend you get an okay on your test before jumping into longer recordings, so these issues can be fixed first. :-)

As for the recording, because of the high volume, there are some loud clicks and such throughout the recording.
I did write down a list of the time stamps for you, but because there are so many, it would be easier for you just to go back through the recording and edit them out. Here are a few examples: @:06, :18, :36, :52, :55, 1:01, etc., etc.

@3:12 to 3:16 it needs to say "If it had not had" - there are several attempts that are incorrect there instead.
@4:36 there is a long pause and noise between two words in a sentence.
@6:24-6:25 long pause between words
@6:33-:6:34 long pause
@6:56 there is a repeat "frighten"
@7:43 there is a long pause between two syllables of a word.

And one last thing, when you reupload, please name the file folllowing this naming scheme here:
• File Name: Put file name all in lowercase, and the title all in one word (no leading articles i.e. the, a, an, and NO SPACES): csw046_shorttitleinoneword_readersinitials_128kb.mp3,
e.g. csw046_scarletgiantbean_ge_128kb.mp3
Please make sure you get your technical issues sorted out before starting a new recording. :-)

Much better! :thumbs:

There is one edit needed. There is a horn honking at 1:33. If you could cut that out, that would be great!

Also the volume is still too high at 99 DB. We aim for between 86 and 92 DB - ideally around 89. For future files it would be best to get the volume down a bit while recording. For this one, if you are using Audacity, select the entire file and go to Effects > Amplify and then move the slider to the left into the negative range. That should do the trick . :-)

The illustration/picture on this page, is a good idea of what to aim for visually with the waves on the recording: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

You are doing good! It is a steep learning curve at first, but gets easier the more you do. :-)
