May, may where are you? Slip, sliding away . . .
Belatedly, here are my contributions:
The Birds Will Sing Again by John O'Brien 1878 – 1952

1:55
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc216_ode_lcw_128kb.mp3
I didn't see him in the LV Catalog so here is a Wikipedia link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Green_Fessenden
He also wrote under the pseudonym Dr. Christopher Caustic
(Gutenberg has Fessenden in the bibliographic section, and Caustic in the text)

The Slide of Paul Revere by Grantland Rice 1880 –1954
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65065

This one was a lot of fun; hope you enjoy it.

Thank you, Joanna! No worries about the text link; I actually try to use the gutenberg main ebook pages, so: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/592JoannaHoyt wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 5:36 pm For Memorial Day, two WWI-era poems by Vachel Lindsay, 1879-1931
Text of both is in this book, https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/592/pg592.html (sorry, no direct links to the individual poems seem to be available here)
Your recordings are PL OK!
Welcome to Librivox and to the Poetry Collection Sabiha! Congrats on your first recording! Tech specs are correct, just the volume is quiet. Going forward, check if you can increase your microphone's input volume. For this recording, I would amplify (and because that will probably also bring up the background noise, I would also apply noise reduction) Please ask if anything is unclear, or go ahead and re-upload when you're ready with the edits.skepticalcitizen wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 9:13 pm Hello Rapunzelina,

Thank you, Winston, Sabiha, and Gary!
Magic Window updated with PL OKs, and this collection is now closed for cataloguing!
Sabiha, your volume is much better! A bit louder than necessary in fact. It's at a level that I can take care of during cataloguing, so no worries. But generally volume is tricky, so if you'd like, you could use the Checker https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker until you get more comfortable with managing volume levels. Checker can measure volume of an mp3 file in numbers of decibel (dB), and target volume is around 89-90dB
***
I will have to move 4 recordings with PL notes to the next collection.

Hello Rapunzelina!Rapunzelina wrote: ↑May 18th, 2021, 6:15 amHello Malinda! Welcome to Librivox! I saw your question about how to find projects. It will take some getting used to, but you'll soon be able to navigate the forum successfully! If you feel you need it, here's a video about how to navigate the forums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnxpcbnEjoQMalskinner91 wrote: ↑May 17th, 2021, 9:23 pm For two birthdays Aline Kilmer

The forum has changed a bit since the video was made, but not enough to render the video obsolete.
And for more tutorial videos, check out this post: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=39890
Thank you for your recording! It has all tech specs correct, and I will add it to the collection.
Am I the only one not to find this piece in the catalogued version of project?
Thank you!

Hello HandmadePSK! Unfortunately this file needed re-recording, and the reader did not come back for it.
