My best,

PL OK!

That section has thrown light for me on episodes in Tolstoy and Patrick O'Brian, and also on a project I recorded for Librivox - "Recollections of the Revolution and the Empire".

It's confusing enough to read about so how brilliant was Napoleon to be able to manage his various attempts to redraw the map.

Best,

My best,

Such a thrilling chapter. Events famous in literature and music* laid out clearly for me.

At 8:20 you read "the genius of Napoleon" for "the genius of Nelson". At 11:18 you omitted "the Second" (but I don't think that was worth a PL note)

I keep thinking of the experiences of Mme. de La Tour du Pin, whose reminiscences I recorded.

One PL note: at 15:41 "France paid 700,000,000 francs for the expenses of the war "
