Can I please read sections 7,8 and 9? I would love to get started on recording.
Thanks!
Joey
Hi Joeyking and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned those sections to you but before you record any of them, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)

I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums

We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

Any chance we could have an abbreviated beginning to the chapters after Chapter 1? That's an awful lot for folks to have to hear at the beginning of each short chapter.

A good suggestion Nedge and yes that is a lot to listen to each chapter but I've decided to stick with it the way it is, sorry.

Hello,
I am a new LV volunteer, and I would like to expand my experience to all aspects and areas of LibriVox (including PLing.) I am interested in being the DPL for this book ... if you are willing to take me as one.

much thanks,
Daria.

That is wonderful Daria. A great place to learn is proof listening. The basic instructions are in the very first post of this project thread. Here is a video on our forums by t he way and our jargon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK9HAdLF-2k&t=30s

As proof listener you will listen for problems in the recording and then give feedback to the recorder on things they may need to fix. You also will be working inside our magic window. Here is a video on getting into this for the first time https://youtu.be/_cDPSmlTjGM

Ask if anything is confusing !
