We had a glitch with the database and the last 24 hours are irretrievably lost (also magic box updates). Anyone who recently posted, would you please re-post.

Fortunately, I don't recall seeing any updates on this project in the past few days...

Thanks for taking care of the announcements; I didn't learn of the crash until much later in the evening. I'm so lucky to have such good people around to help me out!

Should I read the english translation in parenthesis?
"What you say is true," said Urashima, "but I do not ask you to give it to me for nothing. I will give you some money for it--in other words, the Ojisan (Uncle) will buy it of you. Won't that do for you, my boys?"

Well, there were a couple on Chapter 2 that I went ahead and read as written but Chapter 3 has quite a bit more -- as follows:

"He-he-he-he!" laughed the tortoise; "sake (rice wine) is my favorite refreshment, but I do not care for tobacco."

"This is strange indeed!" said Urashima; "then. Mr. Tortoise with your kind permission I will get on your back. Dokoisho!" [Footnote: "All right" (only used by lower classes).

"Tell me what is this box?" "That," answered the Princess "is the tamate-bako (Box of the Jewel Hand),

"I am no spirit! I am a living man--do you not see my feet;" and "don-don," he stamped on the ground, first with one foot and then with the other to show the man. (Japanese ghosts have no feet.) "

What's the verdict? :hmm:

Wina,

Yeah, go ahead and read them... I think that it can definitely be helpful for our non-Japanese-speaking audience!

If any of these stories fall orphaned, I'd love to read them.

Scott, we seem to have gone past the target completion date and this project has slipped rather.

Have you contacted the readers to see if they still want to read? Do you think End of December would be a feasible completion date? Most readers claimed in summer, so they might be able to push on now?
