Hi,

Here is my submission to this collection:

"The Brave Walk Alone" by John McGreevey

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf078_thebravewalkalone_mcgreevey_slg_128kb.mp3

http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65069

length- 47:30

Catalogue name- Sue Gill

This is my first contribution for a Sci-Fi book (so far I have done Children's group projects and poems), so any feedback on my reading (pacing, breathes, performance, etc...) to help improve my future sci-fi readings would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
:) Sue

Newer story, but still in public domain.
Hi,
These sources aren't acceptable I'm afraid.

I do not understand that. I saw that the requirement was that the work be in the public domain. The feedbook.com site has it listed as a public domain work. That would be a bit of time wasted if it was not acceptable. Can you please look into that again?

Hi Sue,
Thank you for your story! James is our proof listener. He may be able to help you with that.

Hi,
Regarding Feedback.com: "Feedbooks is an ebook retailer, designed with mobile reading in mind." License: Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike (cc by-nc-sa) The text source has to be linked in the catalog and it cannot be a retailer.
Regarding Fourmilab. This is the website of the author: This site is developed and maintained by John Walker, founder of Autodesk, Inc. and co-author of AutoCAD. It is just a story he wrote and seems to be using to market. You may be able to upload your recording to Internet Archive independent of Librivox.
There is an abundance of cleared stories on Project Gutenberg.
Hope that helps.

That's a bummer. Well, my goal was to try to get some short stories (a variety) that are not on Librivox. Most all of the ones I wanted to do have 2+ versions of them. I know that is fine, but variety is the spice of life. Can you give me any other sources other than Gutenberg that have public domain materials that Librivox is fine with?

Texts that have been published before 1925. You have to dig around. PG has a tremendous amount and they are cleared by their legal team. A ton of them have not been recorded before for Librivox.

I have post for this collection, that lists short works not posted to Librivox that are PD from Project Gutenberg. I updated the post when things are submitted here.

Good Job Sue,

There is nothing to improve.

Your pace and reading is good.

Your editing is good, no breaths or noises.

All the tech setting are correct.

It is PL ok, I hope we get more from you.

Thanks for the feedback, James! I’m glad all is good with it! I enjoyed recording that story, so I’ll look for more sci-fi stories to do.

Also, in the opening post of this right at the top is a list of places you can find source texts including one Librivox thread that names PG's newly added scifi.
