Rohan,

You have a number of technical issues that need to be address. I did not listen to your recording yet, I will do a full PL when a file with the technical corrections is submitted

* The bit Rate should be 128kpbs, you have 122
* It should be in Mono, not Stereo
* It should use a constant bit rate not a variable bit rate
* The volume is low at 84.4DB it should be between 86-92

You may want to consider looking into the Checker App, it will help you identify and address these issues before submitting your recording. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker

Here is the revised version.
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf078_thegun_dick_rf_128kb.mp3
time: 30:13

Thanks, Rohan

Rohan, you still have a technical issues. The volume is low at 85.4 should be between 86 and 92db

Your editing is a little over aggressive.

* Example "The Gun" both times in your opening statement, has only half of the T sound, additionally it seems like you copied and pasted it into both places as they both have the same clipped sound.

* Example 1:09 - 1:11 The book says "He saw a vast expanse" your recording says "ast expanse"

* Example 1:46 - 1:48 The book says ""I wonder what the atmospheric sample will show," your recording says ""hat the atmospheric sample will show,"

The missing words, and sentences starting in the middle of a word, make this difficult to listen to.

Please proof listen your submission, and correct these and any other glaring errors before submitting.

I did not proof listen beyond 1:48

James
Sorry for taking so long, here is the new version

I fixed the editing and made it louder but I am not sure how to see the volume in decibels. Hopefully it is loud enough now.

Thanks, Rohan

Hi Grace,
We have a DPL who will be proof listening these sections. If you are looking for projects that need prooflisteners this symbol ~ at the front of the title means it needs a proof listener.
Have a good night.

Story Title: Double Take
Author: Wilson Parks Griffith
Librivox URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf078_doubletake_griffith_cj_128kb.mp3
Online version URL:
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/58826
Recording duration: 8m24s

This is my first recording for Librivox (and I do apologize for not waiting for feedback from my 1-minute test - enthusiasm got the better of me I'm afraid).

The file (recorded with Audacity/win10/USB mic) was passed by Checker and has been noise-reduced and cleaned up for clicks, pops and spacing.

For the Librivox catalog, Chris James (my name) is fine.

I'm looking forward to feedback and how to improve.

Many thanks,

Chris
