Understanding English Cathedrals: Terminology, Architecture, Organization, And Personnel, by Esther Singleton (1865 - 1930) and others

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/understanding-english-cathedrals
This recording comprises chapters from two different works: How To Visit The English Cathedrals (1912) by Esther Singleton, and The Cathedral Churches Of England (1911) by Helen Marshall Pratt. Each book devotes a chapter to each cathedral, but this recording includes only the introductory chapters of general information. (Summary by David Wales)

Target completion date: 2021-05-01

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Dave at craigdav1 says he will dpl/mc. Thanks!

Dave, The new form has me confused. I didn't see places to list where the books are in gutenberg and internetarchive. What am I missing? Thanks.

MW coming up.

I've added the links to the top post. You can add the links to each section once the MW is setup. As a compilation it's like your other compilations except there are only two text sources.

edit: Each link could take the reader to the specific location within each text and therefore be slightly different from another link to a different chapter from the same text. Not sure how to handle the intros. I'm inclined to mention the author only with the title at the end of the intro and just give the compilation title at the beginning of the intro.

Hi Dave, I think I understand the metadata though I don't see a place for the title of the work. Would you check me and let me know if I need to change anything? Thanks.

The title for the "book" appears on the Project Screen and will be the title (Understanding English Cathedrals: Terminology, Architecture, Organization, And Personnel) at the top of the LV page but unlike your Christmas compilation where the author was "various" right now the two authors will be listed below the book title (in the same order as their chapters - Pratt and Singleton).

edit: Like your Christmas compilations each section will have an author listed and a text link (in the author and text columns). We could make the book author "various" as you did for the previous compilations.
