Thank you for your section. Please let us know the length of the file. Jordan will be along sometime soon to take a listen and provide feedback.

Time: 7:57
Here are your notes:

0:00: The opening silence should be about 0.5 to 1 second. You've got almost 30 seconds.
3:08: "that a few miles away too is a handsome sight" should be "that a few miles away that too is a handsome sight"
6:13: "Then he crawled out of... on a rock" should be "Then he crawled out on a rock"
7:03: I'm hearing "gasped" rather than "grasped" in "She grasped the blue water"
7:56: The ending silence should be about 5 seconds. You've only got about 1.

Also, you need to save the file as mono, not stereo.

All right, it took me awhile to figure out the editing and then to figure out how to upload the corrected version. I believe I got it now. ;)

PL OK, but it was still in stereo. I've fixed it myself, but watch out for that in the future. If you're using Audacity, go through the first few steps here to make sure you're recording in mono.

Okay, I think I have the hang of this now. I can do section one Sim Vedder's Kite if you'd like. Since it's the first section is there anything special I need to say or is it just like last time:

"Section # of Harper's Young People, Volume 1, Issue 25, April 20, 1880. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org." [Optional: "Read by your name."] "Harper's Young People, Volume 1, Issue 25, April 20, 1880. Section Title."

Yes you may read section 1. Please make sure you understand Jordan's note about converting your file to mono before you turn in your file for this section. There is nothing different about reading the first section, just the standard intro from the first post. Thanks!

Okay, I checked it's not stereo, but mono, so hopefully this is right!

You managed to get it mono, but the problem this time is that you've saved it as a variable bit rate, rather than a constant bit rate. Check the link I gave last time for details of how to do this in Audacity.

Also, make sure you match the file name correctly. There's an extra underscore at the start.

Because both of these are easily fixed, I've done it myself, so this is PL OK now.
