Hi! Is any short story from Edgar Allan Poe admitted? I'd read it from this book: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/25525/25525-h/25525-h.htm#chap2.7

Greetings :)

I recorded a collection of 4 ghost stories by Ambrose Bierce "Present at a Hanging, A Cold Greeting, A Wireless Message, and An Arrest" : https://www.gutenberg.org/files/4387/4387-h/4387-h.htm#page327
Here's the link: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor050_presentatahangingandothers_bierce_ja_128kb.mp3
Run time: 16:59

Yes, my voice got a little high pitched at the very end  but I didn't think it was so noticeable as to need an edit.

I don't know if I would call this my first recording because I have uploaded a recording before, but it has not gone through. Just in case, you can credit me as Julia Adriana.

Thank you, Julia! Don't worry about the high pitched voice. Maybe it even fits the story :D
It would need to be one story per file. Will you be able to save each story in a separate file with its own intro etc?

Sure! I'll have it in by tomorrow. I hope it's all right that each story is quite short (3-4 minutes long).

Thank you, Julia! I've added those in the magic window for proof-listening. The filenames look a bit weird; I don't know why they got parentheses. It's ok for now, either I'll fix them at cataloguing, or if you need to re-upload after the proof listening you can fix the filename too.

There's no problem with the duration. Sometimes the shortest stories are the scariest because they leave so much in the imagination to go wild!!

Hello Julia - thanks so much for these recordings. Really well read and I love a short spooky tale :)

A few PL notes which apply to all four of these.

Your introductions are missing all or part of the final 'story and author name', which should appear after the 'recording by' section. So the full introduction for all of these should include:

"[Story title] by [Author name]. - This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [adding if you wish: location / date]"
Say:
"[Story title] by [Author name]."

Also, none of these have the five seconds of silence at the end (with a possible of A Cold Greeting which I think is close enough to be ok!)

Finally, if you're making these edits anyway, I noticed that A Cold Greeting has quite a loud intake of breath at the very start, before the introduction. You might want to cut this out.

Thanks again, and please do ask if you have any questions :)

Thanks for all your patience! I do hope these work. Can you tell I'm not used to editing my own recordings?
