Anita23 wrote: January 25th, 2021, 12:13 pmHi, this is my first recording and I would like to appear as Anita23. May I claim section 2: In the Garden of a Villa?
and you're the third new voice in this project, welcome to our forum, Anita and thank you for your interest in the Black Cat. :)

I see you already passed your minute-test, so you can launch into recording right away. Here is your freshly opened personal reader page, where you will see all the projects listed in which you participate: https://librivox.org/reader/15657.

Section 2 is now reserved for you, since this is your first recording, please read carefully through the first post, where you will see all the details on how to correctly speak the intro/outro/title and how to name the finished file.

Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. And have fun with your first recording. 8-)

thank you John, I will have a listen soon and give you feedback, so stay tuned in case there are any corrections to be made. Can you tell me how long the section is so I can update the Magic Window correctly ?

Also please be careful with the filename. Each project has an example of how to name the file correctly, in the first post. Yours should have been: blackcat0201oct1896_1_various_128kb. But no need to reupload right away, I will first check the recording and see if there are other mistakes.

Thank you

so, finally, I took the time to listen to this wonderfully chilling story. :9: The beginning had the ingredients of the haunted house mystery and the ending was simply fascinating. I was rooting for Sam to be proven innocent. And excellent story and wonderfully narrated, thank you so much, John ! I'm happy to have you read in this magazine.

I have only a few small corrections to add:

> at 0:24: you forgot the second part of the intro and the title/author: "The Black Cat Vol. 02 No. 1 October 1896. Section 1. The House that Jack built, by Harold Donovan Hilton"

> at 11:10: (p. 5) "a hall of fifty by thirty feet" – I don't hear "feet" at the end, you may have cut it off by mistake :hmm:

> at the end you have nearly 7 seconds of silence, please cut down to the standard 5 seconds

> and since you have to reupload anyway, please change the filename to the correct one for this project: blackcat0201oct1896_1_various_128kb

thank you

and thank you Sarah, for such a lovely narration of a rather sad story though. Stories that deal with cruelty to animals always get to me a lot. Poor Prince ! The ending is tragic.

Still: it's wonderfully and flawlessly narrated and can be marked PL ok right away. Your voice is a great addition to the group of Black Cat narrators. :9:

Thank you, Sonia! The end really took me by surprise the first time i read it through. I was also saddened by how it ended :( but it was still a fun read!
Great to hear it's all set! I look forward to any more Black Cat readings in the future!
