The Diary of Samuel Pepys 1664 by Samuel Pepys (1633 - 1703).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-diary-of-samuel-pepys-1664-by-samuel-pepys/
Pepys continues to live life to the hilt, juggling extra-marital shenanigans with a complicated homelife, difficulties with staff, power struggles with colleagues, concerns about his relationship with his mentor Lord Sandwich, not to mention fears about war with the Dutch. ( Nicole Lee)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/4153
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I don't know. If she can, I'm sure she will be by to claim. For now I'm putting a ~ up to show you need one. Don't let the lack of a DPL stop you from posting completed sections. :D

January has just one slight stumble, in case you'd like to fix, at 40:35, "and Sir-- and Sir William Petty"

Just one small note for March: at around 19:28, there is a phrase missing from the recording, here in bold "and so went away in a fury. This vexed me cruelly, but being very busy", if you feel it needs to be added. Otherwise, you can mark the section PL OK!

Thanks Rapunzelina.

May is up now and it's quite a month. Poor Pepys, what a year he's having! All I'll say is: His uncle Wight. Oh. My. God.

Brilliant reading, Nicole! You're adding the right note to Pepys' writing!
A couple of PL Notes:
After 25:52, the entry for the 21st is missing from the recording.
After 32:12, the entry for the 28th is missing from the recording.
