And Honoria is PL ok. Well done!
Here are the edited files for Jane Bennetmightyfelix wrote: ↑February 26th, 2021, 9:49 pm Jane Bennet is so close to PL ok! But not quite there.
We are missing part of the voice credit (underlined): "Jane Bennett, her maid, ready by Michele Eaton."
Also, your last line for act 1 is included in the file for act 2. It needs to be cut from there and tacked on to the act 1 file. And then both will be PL ok!

Jane is PL ok now, and so is Canada! As far as Canada being female, I don't think it's that important that you sound masculine. In fact, it almost makes me want to try roping in Chris to reprise his parlourmaid persona, so that we can have another mannish woman to join you! Maybe as Straits Settlements?
No time for PLing stage directions right now. I'd like to finish up recording for Fanny tonight.

And Fanny's last two acts are in the MW, awaiting a review from her acting manager.
Will PL Fanny today.
Thanks, Todd

Ok, well, after procrastinating half of the day (I found an interesting new youtube channel, which kept me distracted for a while ), and staying up late to watch a movie, I decided to at least PL the first act before bed.
As always, it's so nice to have you reading our stage directions, Michael! You always seem to find just the right tone to set each scene.
I did notice that this script often abbreviates character names, such as Dr. F. for Dr. Freemantle. I believe we generally prefer these names to be read out fully, even when they're abbreviated in print. Perhaps Todd can confirm this. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and note each instance I find.
0:59 I'm not sure how important this one is, or even if I might be hearing things, but I hear "The Older of the Misses Wetherell," and it should be "The Elder of the Misses Wetherell." Obviously the meaning is the same, but I think "elder" fits better.
1:19 Question for Todd: The Dramatis Personae has, at the beginning of the list of the music hall girls, the words "Our Empire." Would you like this included? If so, it would need to be added here.
5:43 Dr. F.
5:55 Dr. F.
6:02 Dr. F.
6:48 Dr. F.
6:52 Dr. F.
7:06 Dr. F.
7:09 Dr. F.
7:42 Mrs. B.
7:44 Misses W.
7:48 Mrs. B.
7:50 Misses W.
7:59 Dr. F.
8:40 Misses W.
8:49 Misses W.
17:23 Mrs. B.
18:02 Mrs. B.
18:20 Mrs. B.
18:52 Missed word here (underlined). Small, but significant, I think. Text is (p. 28): "She glances through the open door L, then flies across to the desk..." I hear, "She glances through the open door L, then flies across the desk..."

I'd like the "Our Empire" words added. It explains something - not that the average listener is likely to remember an act later....Question for Todd: The Dramatis Personae has, at the beginning of the list of the music hall girls, the words "Our Empire." I just listened to the rest of the stage directions. I listed out each instance of an abbreviation that should be read out fully. Most of them should be able to be fixed with a quick cut-and-paste, I think. There's only one note besides those. A small change, but significant, I think.
Act 2:
0:45 Dr. F.
0:53 Dr. F.
1:38 Dr. F.

Hi, Could I claim England please? I'll put on my best Cockney accent!
Thanks.

Not so very quick, as many of those edits are embedded within longer lines and are tricky to paste in. It took almost as long as the original recordings, and in retrospect I would probably have made it easier for myself if I had simply re-recorded the whole lot. Anyway, it's done now.mightyfelix wrote: ↑March 13th, 2021, 9:36 pm I just listened to the rest of the stage directions. I listed out each instance of an abbreviation that should be read out fully. I'll do act 1 tomorrow. Too much to do now.
Thank you.
Devorah, I will Spot PL these as I assemble the play acts. You can then listen to it all put together in the final PL.
Thanks, Todd
