Here is a sci fi short story: "The Odyssey of Sam Meecham" by Charles E. Fritch

19:46

P.S. I was having trouble uploading this and kept getting a JSON error. For future reference, I solved it by logging out of LibriVox, then back in. I think my login may have expired and then I no longer had permission to upload, but it wasn't telling me that with words, but in unintelligible computer jargon.

Thanks!

Good to know. Thanks for your story, Stacy!

Hi! Very nicely read. Two small notes:

0:17 - in the intro after “recorded by” and before starting the story, need to say story title and author again.

10:26 small stumble/repeat.

Hi Amy,
The recording is about 70 minutes long.

There were 7 "Parts" (or chapters). Should I break them down into Parts?

Ralph Martin

Hi Ralph,
No, that won't be necessary. You just made it for the length limit. It just needs to be at or under 70 minutes so it will fit on a CD for readers that listen to them that way.
Thanks!

If it hasn't been taken yet, I'd like to read Zen by Jerome Bixby. Thank you!

Hi!

Would it be possible to read "2 B R 0 2 B" by Kurt Vonnegut? I figured I'd check before doing anything.

Thank you!
Most certainly, Merecat. That is a popular one.
Hi, thanks for getting back to me and sorry about the delay! I managed to get it done. A bit nervous as it's my first recording! I've definitely made a few mistakes and forgot about the clapping or shouting afterwards, so I'm sorry about that. I've also been reading it rather slowly maybe. Looking forward to any suggestions!

Hi Merecat,
Congratulations on your first recording! Colleen is the proof listener for this collection. She will give you feedback when she has a chance.
Thanks!

I wondered why 70 minutes and never thought to ask.

Thanks!

Just checking on this -- the time shown when I hit play on the recording is 1:11:02 which puts it 1:02 over the 70 minute limit. Does that matter?
