Section 4 spot PL:

Hi Jo. Sorry for so many mistakes...perhaps if I read this new book it will help me...it's called "The Brain and the Voice".

Section 4 edits:

Heim -> Helm @ 4:56, 7:53, 8:31, 12:03, 17:40 With apologies to Dr. Helmholtz...

9:05 cut "such as I show you on the screen"

11:05 "the octave c' " -> "the octave above middle c" - hope this is the correct edit based on, two paragraphs down, "the octave above, the second harmonic, is weak,"

16:32 - Yes I would need help to figure out how should I read the table- would it be, each column heading with each entry, like this: "a. Without voice. Labial, P, Dental, T, Guttural, K"?

It's this text, if you are able to read it from here:
"The consonants have been grouped by Hermann as follows:—
Labials. Dentals. Gutturals.
1. Explosives—
a. Without the voice P T K
b. With the voice B D G
2. Aspirates—
a. Without the voice F S (hard), L, Sh, Th (hard) Ch
b. With the voice V Z, L, Th, Zh (soft) Y in yes
3. Resonants M N N (nasal)
4. Vibratory sounds Labial R Lingual R Guttural R
H is the sound produced in the larynx by the quick rushing of the air through the widely opened glottis.
Hermann's classification which I have given is especially valuable as regards the speaking voice, but Aikin classifies the consonants from the singing point of view, according to the more or less complete closure of the resonator.
CLASSIFICATION OF CONSONANTS (AIKIN)
Jaw fully open H, L, K, G
Jaw less open T, D, N, R
Jaw nearly closed, lips closed P, B, M
Jaw nearly closed, upper lip on lower teeth F, V
Jaw quite closed S, Z, J, N, Ch, Sh"

You've done a great job with chapter 4! I only have a few PL notes for you to consider.

The volume is within the acceptable range, but you could consider amplifying by 2db which would bring this up to the target 89 db.

4:56, 7:53, 8:31, 12:03, 17:40 Helmholtz - you say Heimholtz (with a long i)
it should be helm like the helm of a boat - https://www.dictionary.com/browse/helmholtz?s=t
9:05 consider cutting "such as I show you on the screen"
11:05 the octave c' - consider reading as the octave beginning at middle c? (I think? - this nomenclature is really confusing!)
16:32 consider including the text you left out here and including the tables? (if you need advice on how to read the tables, I can help)

Here is how I would read the table: leaving a very slight pause between the column heading and consonant(s) in each case -

The consonants have been grouped by Hermann as follows:—

1. Explosives—
a. Without the voice Labials P Dentals T Gutturals K
b. With the voice Labials B Dentals D Gutturals G
2. Aspirates—
a. Without the voice Labials F Dentals S (hard), L, Sh, Th (hard) Guttural Ch
b. With the voice Labials V Dentals Z, L, Th, Zh (soft) Gutturals Y in yes
3. Resonants Labials M Dentals N Guttural N (nasal)
4. Vibratory sounds Labials Labial R Dentals Lingual R Gutturals Guttural R

As far as the edit for the octave above middle c, I'm not positive either, but based on the nomenclature in the table of voice ranges, I think that is correct. I defer to your judgement on this one. I'm certainly not a music scholar by any stretch of the imagination.

Section 8 PL Notes

14:00 if one removed - text reads "if removed"

16:30 loud or soft notes - text reads "loud or soft tones"

These are minor changes, so you can decide whether to fix or leave them. :)

Jo, I was hoping to polish up a few things, write a summary and do an album cover, but unfortunately, I'm going to have to say, ship it!

It was a real honor and truly an enormous pleasure working with you and I want to thank you for resurrecting this project. It's only finished because you are the wonderful, kindly, generous, and amazing person you are. So thank you for all you do. You definitely are one of the bright spots of the Librivox project! Keep up the fantastic work!!!!! Big hugs from the Midwest, Marya
