Hi pwitt, Welcome to the Nonfiction Collection! :)

I think W.C. Prime's essay "A Village Discussion" is timeless! "Now I just ask you this: which is best wuth believin', my old mother when she told me the miracles was true because there's a God over the airth, or these consarned edicated fools that go around saying there never could a-been no miracles because they don't know how to work 'em."

Addition to the PM sent to to GabrielLuisRodrigues dated 12/2/2020 but never opened by the recipient. Addition explains that I have put his selection on hold for edits needed, but that it would be welcome in a future SNF collection when corrections are completed. Action in conformance with the 2-week deadline for edits outlined in #5 of the instructions for the SNF.

Good morning, Craig! Thank you for this introduction to Henri Bergson's philosophy! :) PL OK!

"Any one who approaches, without preconceived idea and on the firm ground of facts, the classical problem of the relations of soul and body, will soon see this problem as centering upon the subject of memory, and even more particularly upon the memory of words..."

Hi Betty, Thanks for this tea story! :D Quite interesting! From the history I've delved on the web, the plantation did not survive, but the tea plants did, transplanted by Lipton Tea Co. to a farm on Wadmalaw Island, S.Carolina in 1960, later taken over by Bigelow Tea Co, which sells tea from these plants under the "American Classic" label at select stores, including Whole Foods. Have you tried this tea?

Thanks Betty :D

Not until 1888, when Dr. Charles Shepard founded the Pinehurst Tea Plantation in Summerville, South Carolina did American grown tea become a reality. In Summerville, Dr. Shepard created award winning teas until his death in 1915.

Hi Availle, Many thanks for this biography of Nettie Maria Stevens, Ph.D., written by her doctoral advisor, another distinguished scientist Thomas Hart Morgan. :D

Nettie Maria Stevens (July 7, 1861 – May 4, 1912) was an American geneticist who discovered sex chromosomes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nettie_Stevens

Thomas Hunt Morgan (September 25, 1866 – December 4, 1945) was an American evolutionary biologist, geneticist, embryologist, and science author who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1933 for discoveries elucidating the role that the chromosome plays in heredity
