Addition to the PM sent to to GabrielLuisRodrigues dated 12/2/2020 but never opened by the recipient. Addition explains that I have put his selection on hold for edits needed, but that it would be welcome in a future SNF collection when corrections are completed. Action in conformance with the 2-week deadline for edits outlined in #5 of the instructions for the SNF.

Hi Betty, Thanks for this tea story!

Quite interesting! From the history I've delved on the web, the plantation did not survive, but the tea plants did, transplanted by Lipton Tea Co. to a farm on Wadmalaw Island, S.Carolina in 1960, later taken over by Bigelow Tea Co, which sells tea from these plants under the "American Classic" label at select stores, including Whole Foods. Have you tried this tea?

Not until 1888, when Dr. Charles Shepard founded the Pinehurst Tea Plantation in Summerville, South Carolina did American grown tea become a reality. In Summerville, Dr. Shepard created award winning teas until his death in 1915.
