Sorry about that
A successful "Failure"! PL-OK

I prefer to think you were being subtly ironic.

47, 50, 55 all PL-OK

It strikes me that the sentiments expressed re the "Austral plains" would also be suitable to prairie and steppe.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Very true. I thought the same thing. :D

Here is Section 53, Australia. Logical name for a poem in this collection.

Another great reading, Wayne! PL-OK.

I do love a poem or song of a patriotic nature. The best ones bring a lump to your throat, even when they are not of one's own country ... "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" do that to me. I have another Australian poet lined up, by the name of Brady ... so many of these guys have Celtic names, have you noticed? ... but we have to wait 24 months before he becomes PD. Here's a sample of him writing about Australia back a century ago...

"She knows no High Achievement yet; but in a vision grand
The True Australian sometimes dreams his future Motherland:
Untrammelled by ancestral gyves; from ancient usage free,
Her sword of patriotic steel, her shield -- Democracy;

He sees her proud, reliant head uplifted to the skies,
With Freedom's star-flash on her hair; and burning in her eyes,
The fire that great Mazzini fed, the fire that Lincoln nursed,
And in his secret heart is writ, all times -- "Australia First".

Hi silk222, and welcome to Librivox! Great to have you aboard.

For the time being, I can reserve you Sections 2, 4 and 6 for up to one month. This will give you the time to complete your one-minute-test, which we recommend, before you start recording anything in a project.

The test's purpose is to check that your technical settings are all up to LV standard. You can read all about it here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Please post the test in the Listeners Wanted forum: viewforum.php?f=21 and someone will check it and give you feedback or advice if needed.

As soon as the test is ok'ed, please post the results back here, and then I can assign you the sections officially.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

Good luck with the test !

It's sounding great, Alan, but there's still one more page (p.127) to go at the end.

Hi Chris -

Me again - here is a "down payment" on my recordings I just signed up for.... Talking to someone south of you has kept me up late again so I decided to do some recording while it was quiet!

https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/secretkey_51_evans_128kb.mp3 - 3:11
