RitaBoutros wrote: August 19th, 2021, 4:31 pm Hello folks
I've recorded a story written by George Edgerton (pen name for Mary Chavelita Bright) who was apparently quite the woman in her Victorian day. She is said to have inspired people like Thomas Hardy and James Joyce. I'll get it to you soon.

Good thing I'm a patient person, Ms. Rita! :hmm: But then, "soon" can mean different things to different people. I hope all is well in your world. Mine is slow going at the moment, what with Ida gracing Louisiana with her senseless wrath.

No rush, really. There are three openings left, and no limit to the number of submissions.

The Grey Glove is PL OK. Thanks for contributing yet another moving love story.
Poor man, to be so needy, and so smitten after just a glance. He was definitely "hooked". She is definitely going to enjoy reeling in his money!!!!!

Sorry, Bill, I have been out of internet for 3 or 4 days now, until Cox can send a Tech out to figure out why I don't have it. URG. Meanwhile, I finally learned how to hook my laptop up to my phone via Bluetooth, and use the phone's LTE!!! Eureka. I have internet again. I will proof your story today.

Would you please proof mine as well? See post above, Salvatore the Fisherman, Section 18 in the MW.

PL Notes on The Dream Documents:

This file, at 19 minutes, runs considerably longer than 15 minutes, but I find that by bumping up the tempo +10, it sounds just fine and makes it "under the wire" at an acceptable 17:27. I hope you find this agreeable, or you can submit it to a Short Story Collection.
Based on this new tempo, I made the following notes:
12:52 One might adapt the old song, you say "adopt"
13:26 we are apt to learn its lessons, you say "lesson"
14:42 to returning Miranda's letters, you say "letter"

The Dream Documents is PL OK. Interesting story. They could have agreed to change the names and publish the back and forth letters to a magazine, and split the proceeds. It might have been a hit!!! :D

What a quaint, warm story! It seems hauntingly familiar.

It is PL OK despite a smattering of word substitutions which made no significant differences of meaning. Good Job!

Hi, I have uploaded the F.Scott Fitzgerald story Benediction. The choice was motivated by the many forms of love that it contains -- love as romantic, love as fraternal, love as service, love as faith, love as begrudging, love as a discovery, love as a decision, love as experience ... If it does not fall within the prescribed category, no problem.

Thanks for your consideration.
