This author sounded interesting so I did a little research on her. One thing about this play I found out and was wondering if someone out there can help me. The name of the play seems to have been changed somewhere/sometime between 1847 and 1851. " Mowatt's second play, Armand, the Child of the People published in 1847, was also successful." https://www.paulreuben.website/pal/chap8/mowatt.html
I found this information in many places. There is an interesting line in Act III where the King is interrogating Armand: "King: Thy parentage? Arm.: I know it not; a foundling By strangers reared, I am the people's child!" [underling added]

Any smart people out there who know a lot more than me who can increase my knowledge in this area?

The name of the play was changed for the 1849 London production at the Marylebone Theater at the request (or you could say "demand") of the Lord Chamberlain's office when Mowatt submitted the script for approval. That office found the original title, "Armand: Child of the People" was too inflammatory. They also asked that several passages that they found to be anti-monarchical be removed. (When Mowatt toured Ireland in 1851 with Irish tragedian Gustavus V. Brooke in the lead role, these passages were restored, much to the approval of the audience.)

This play was very popular in the U.S. when it debuted. There were many productions of it between 1845 to around the turn of the century.

Current 5:17 text is "didst thou breathe my name?" I think it sounds like "thy name"

Great work with the more poetic passages in this act! Good job of giving the lines an appropriate depth of feeling without making them feel overly melodramatic.
