Hi, Anna! Welcome to LibriVox!

And thank you for helping with this project. :)

I've got your recording loaded into the MW. I can't formally assign it to you, though, until I make a Reader page for you.

So, I need to know what name you'd like us to use for your Catalog name. This is what the public will see on the audiobooks that you help with.

Some of us use our real names, others use the forum name they work under on these boards, and others make up a different psuedonym.

Just let me know what you want for yours, and also let me know if there is a link for a personal web page that you want included. :)

If it's easiest for it to be one word, I can use "Gaby" as my Catalog name. I don't have any links to include. Thanks!

It's no problem at all to have more than one word, so let me know if I should go ahead with the sole Gaby, or if you'd like more to it. :)

Hi! This is recorded very nicely. The only editing that needs to happen is to fix the silences at the beginning and end.

In the front, the silence needs to be between .5 and 1 second (it is over 3 seconds right now).

At the end, the silence needs to be beween 3 seconds and 5 seconds (it is 11 seconds long right now).

If you open the file, then zoom in the track so that the half-second marks show, that makes it very easy to clip out the extra portions. Once that is done, re-export to mp3 again, re-upload, and post the link with the new time. :)

One minor note for future consideration - the volume just barely comes in at the lowest decibels for LibriVox recordings. You might want to bump your recording volume up just a wee bit for next time. :)

Also - here is your personal Catalog Page: Gaby.
It will list every project you are a part of, both in-progress and complete, and it has a link for lists to every section that is assigned to you.

Glad to have you with us!

Hello,

I've recorded the introduction and chapter 1 of A Book of Giants by Henry Wysham Lanier, sourced from http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/48763.

Introduction: 6:40 https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/mlaw004_giantsoftheworldintro_lanier_CD_128kb.mp3
Chapter 1: 21:40 https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/mlaw004_giantsoftheworldchap1_lanier_CD_128kb.mp3

This is my first proper recording for librivox, so I hope it's alright. For the catalogue my name is Cameron Davis.

Thanks for all the help so far, I hope this sounds good.

I would like to claim "Orpheus" from A Book of Myths http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/22693 and "The Princess Who Despised All Men" from The Diamond Fairy Book
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/37995. If those go well I'd be happy to do others - I love folklore and myths!

Hi, Cameron!

Welcome to LibriVox, and thanks for helping with this project!

Normally, I wouldn't include a book's introduction in these collections, but this one does seem apropos, so let's do it! I've got both files loaded into the Magic Window and queued for PL.

Also, thank you for remembering to include the name you wanted for your Catalog Reader Page. Here is yours: Cameron Davis

It will list every audiobook project you're a part of, both in-progress and complete. It also has a link to lists of all the sections assigned to you for recording or proof-listening.

Glad to have you onboard!

Hi, welcome to LibriVox!!

I'm happy to have your help with this collection. :) Both of these selections are entered in the Magic Window and assigned for you.

If you like reading these types of chapters, you are absolutely welcome to continue helping with the collections. Of note, each of us is limited to two sections in a given volume. It won't be long, though, before collection 5 is needed, so there will be space for more from you soon. :)

Glad to have you on board!

Cameron, these are REALLY great recordings! You're a natural. :)

There is only one thing to fix on each of the files: There can be no capitals in LibriVox file names. So, just like you'll find on poetry files, if you ever contribute to those, your initials need to be in lower case.

If you can please rename your mp3s with the lower case, then upload those 2 new file names and post the links here, we'll be all set for these two sections! 8-)
