Chapter 9 sounds great! I have just one note: at 23:21, it seems that the first syllable of "perplexing" has been cut off.

I appreciate your understanding about my not getting to this as soon as I had hoped!
For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/marquisdevillemer_20_sand_128kb.mp3 Time: 22:04

Please let me know if you need fixes!! :D

PS: Stav, I believe that "wib66" claimed sections 25 and 26 a few days ago???
I appreciate your patience! Everything sounds great! I have just a few notes:

Chapter 18:
- At 0:19, could you include "Translated by Ralph Keeler" in the intro?

Chapter 19:
- At 0:19, could you include "Translated by Ralph Keeler" in the intro?
- At 3:08, "I have since kept strict silence," you say "I have kept strict silence." (I mention such a minor difference only because it affects the meaning.)

Chapter 20:
- At 0:20, could you include "Translated by Ralph Keeler" in the intro?
For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

OK, don't know what happened there, I'll correct it! (I'll also shave a little off the silence at the beginning as I thought that might be slightly too long...)

Hi Scarbo!!!
I'm an idiot!!! I'm so used to going solo I did not look at the intro...lesson learned!!!
Thank you for spotting those and the "since" in 19. You are super fast! I thought I wouldn't hear from you for several days. :D
Take care!!!
I've re-uploaded the files and have adjusted the times.

Good morning Scarbo and friends. :)
Here are my last 2 sections. PLEASE take your time.

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/marquisdevillemer_21_sand_128kb.mp3 Time: 27:08
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/marquisdevillemer_22_sand_128kb.mp3 Time: 20:10

That's it for me unless you need fixes of course. So happy I read just enough sections to pretty much figure out what the ending will be.
It's a great story. You picked another winner Stav!!!

Huge huge thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Love gothic novels? Try Children Of The Abbey. Like surprising mysteries? Try The Amathist Cross. Looking for an easy read? Try Harriet's Choice.

Chapter 21 is PL OK! It shouldn't be too long before I get to 22.

It is a great story! I love Sand, so I knew I'd enjoy PLing it.

No spoilers please, I'm reading on to the end! :)

Yes, I like Sand, I know she can be a bit Mills and Boon but she's so much more upbeat and lighthearted (and less misogynistic of course), than so many of her male contemporaries, who were often rather nasty about her I gather. This story has certainly grabbed me more than many, I often don't feel inclined to read on after the chapters I'm recording; looking forward to a few twists and turns yet before our plucky orphan heroine gets to her happy ending!
