Squeak! Squeak!
I hadn't flagged this topic for watching, until I suddenly saw yesterday that it's galloping along at lightning speed! (So what else is new?)

So here is my squeaky contribution, "The Hypnotist" by Ambrose Bierce:

https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor044_hypnotist_bierce_ljb_128kb.mp3

Text source (story)... http://www.gutenberg.org/files/3715/3715-h/3715-h.htm#hypnotist
Text source (collection)... http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/3715

Duration 16:38

O BTW...
At about 8:36, I say "...the niggard economy of my parents...."
This word has no connection, in etymology or otherwise, with the epithet we now know as the "N" word.

"every little breeze..."

"The Lost Door"

Recording Length: 51:47

Perhaps not possessed of the most literary merit in the universe, but I still think it's kind of fun. More ambiguity at the end than one might expect, given the overall tone. :)

Thank you, manyanemones! (Is there a different name you'd like to be credited by in the Librivox Catalogue?)

You did a brilliant reading of the story! Just one request, to add the "End of The Masque of the Red Death" at the end, plus 5 seconds of silence. When you export your file, use only lower-case in the filename, and re-upload here! Thanks! Let me know if you need any guidance with editing!

Tech specs are checked and correct, text is in the public domain! :D I will have to give it a proper listen later, because I've run out of time for the day

In the meantime, here's your Reader Page: https://librivox.org/reader/15054 which you can also access from your name link in the Magic Windows. It lists all projects you read for, so it may seem a bit empty now! But hopefully you enjoy recording and you'll gradually fill it up!
It can also help you keep track of your sections in ongoing projects, under the "Reader section details" link.

Glad to hear it! Actually-- I need to reupload, since there's a horrible click around 2:50:69 that I can't seem to get rid of. I will let you know when I have it fixed. I don't want to waste your time.

Okay. I have that fixed. I'm sure there are other things, but that one was really glaring. I ran it through cleanup, too. * at self*

File length and other details remain the same.

Thanks for setting up the reader page for me!

Hey!

Happy (not quite) Halloween!

Canon Alberic's Scrap-book by M R James, source here: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/8486

https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor044_canonalberic_james_ag_128kb.mp3
27:18

Recorded this, then realised someone else had already submitted an M R James for this volume - hope that's not a problem!

Also my cat did some amazing yowling half way through which sort of added to the atmosphere... I think I've managed to cut any issues out but maybe keep an ear out in PL for any I might have missed!

Also also, apologies to anyone who speaks or understands Latin... Happy for CC in PL for any suggestions to improve it - particularly the section near the end.

Thanks for coordinating, stay spooky!
Suckin’ at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.

Happy, not quite, Halloween, to you too! I did not notice any cat yowling! Certainly not a problem to have more of the same author in a collection. Thank you for your contribution! It's PL OK!

I found a collection of Scottish based horror stories, so with this Scottish voice I present:
The Floating Head of The Benrachett Inn, near the Perth Road, Dundee
by Elliott O'Donnell (27 February 1872 – 8 May 1965)

https://www.gutenberg.org/files/20034/20034-h/20034-h.htm#CASE_XIII
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor044_floatinghead_odonnell_gl_128kb.mp3
12m37s

I was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland. This was a delight to read.
Thank you for the opportunity.
