33-36 are all PL OK!

At least in this book, Dickens does like to have similar phrases several times in a row - so that it sounds like it is a repeat, but it is not! :-)

Meanwhile, I have transferred the existing PL notes to the MW. In the process I notice that starting with section 15, you have reversed the section number and author's last name in all succeeding filenames.

taleoftwocities_dickens_15_128kb.mp3 instead of taleoftwocities_15_dickens_128kb.mp3

I'll deal with the existing links, so there is no need to reupload any files that are PL OK, but please change back to the way it's listed in the example filename in the top post of this thread for the rest of the sections. Thanks!
Yes, I will go back to the form in which the section number goes in order before the author name, as suggested. Thanks,

Rick

m8b1 wrote: March 15th, 2021, 2:41 pm Chapter 27 has a high pitched whine/background noise for about the first 7-1/2 minutes. I don't know if it possible to get it out or make it less noticeble, but I would give it a shot. It is not terribly bad, but I could hear it. Other than that it is OK!
Maria:

I will check that out. If I can't get rid of the noise I will just re-record those minutes. Thanks,

37 is PL OK!

PL Note Section 38:

There is a mistake/repeat at 27:47 "That he would never get.."

And I think I am all caught up. :-)

Maria:

I have re-recorded those 7 and one-half minutes and uploaded the corrected file to the MW. It is ready for Spot PL.
You can listen to it here:

Time: 29:46

I think that it sounds much better! Thanks,

There is a repeat/mistake at 11:17-11:19 that needs to be removed. (The second reading after it was the correct version)
"His Devices for blowing up the people"

This file also has the high pitched whine/noise I mentioned in the other chapter, but it is through the entire file. I experimented on my end and it will come out with a light noise cleaning.
Please tell me how to accomplish the light cleaning. Noise reduction has not worked to allow me to get rid of that sound. :( Thanks,

Rick

Hi Rick,

Assuming you know how to noise clean, make sure you get a piece that has the whine. The ending silence didn't have it for this file. I just used whatever my setting were in Audacity, and it took it completely away.

What setting are you using?

I found the solution and have repaired the file and made the needed cut. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was submitting section 39 and then found some errors in it which I will correct before announcing its submission.
