wow an excellent first act and brilliant portrayal of the duality in Faustus' soul. Well done, Mike. Haha, I had to smirk in the end, when he was so very quickly converted and led away from the holy path again as soon as he saw Gretchen.

It's an interesting variant on the German original so far. The opening is totally different, now I'm curious for the rest.

I have a small textual note here:

> at 2:20: (p. 173) "I spake unwittingly" - you say "unwillingly" which is a bit of a change of meaning

oh I see the handkerchiefs have to be handy again for this play

what a sad final scene. And Lisa is really well portrayed. A bit humble and subdued in the beginning, but then defiant against the self-righteous girls and so totally grateful and loyal to Gretchen.
