Hi NancyChris,
Thanks for volunteering! Unless otherwise specified, readers can decide whether they want to read each particular footnote. If the BC has special instructions about footnotes, they usually put them above the Magic Window. In this case, I'm asking readers not to read the footnotes (because they interrupt the flow of the letters and don't reflect current scholarship). Thanks for checking!
Here's your reader page:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Sure hope I did all of this correctly on my inaugural submission. If not, I look forward to fixing.
Thank you for this opportunity!

It's a special moment when you PL someone's first LV contribution and hear a reading as accomplished as this! Thanks for adding the text before the first letter. I just realized the instructions were unclear on this point.
There are a couple of technical points that do need to be fixed:
1) The silence at the start should be no more than 1 second, and the silence at the end should be ~5 seconds. Please shorten the former and lengthen the latter.
2) The average volume is 83.9 dB, which is outside our target range of 86–92 dB (ideal 89 dB). I'm not familiar with Twisted Wave, but hopefully you know how to amplify your recording. If you want, you can download the Checker program and check yourself the volume and other technical specs we look for.

Also, your catalog name has been changed.

What a learning experience this has been! Here is the new file:
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/turkishembassyletters_1_wortleymontagu_128kb.mp3
I believe I have the correct amount of silence at the beginning and end and I'm pretty sure I successfully increased volume -- I downloaded Checker and the file "passed," so I hope the quality is still okay. If not, I will be happy (well, maybe not exactly "happy," but certainly "willing") to re-record.
Thank you also for your kind words. They were a real confidence-booster!
