Psychology of the Unconscious by Carl Jung (1875 - 1961).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/psychology-of-the-unconscious-by-carl-gustav-jung/
Jung says in his subtitle that this work is a study of the transformations and symbolisms of the libido and a contribution to the history of the evolution of thought. ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/psychologyofunco00jung/page/n7
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Here it is, Dave. Please advise. I left out his middle name and simplified the file handle. Are they acceptable? I have no preferences whatsoever! Thanks for your support, of course! :D

Dave, there are a translator's note, a translator's lengthy introduction, an author's quotation page, an author's note, and an author's introduction. The author's intro is part of the whole central text so must be included. But what of the others? Advise me, please. I had actually contemplated a section for each; in other words, including them all. Jim

Jim,
Material external to the main text can be read, or not, at the reader's discretion. The translator's lengthy introduction seems useful, especially to those new to the field (section 0?). The author's introduction could be included with Part 1, Ch 1 in section 1. I would recommend, as you have, that the intros should be keep. The other two sections seems less important. Because the section and chapter numbers will not be the same once you reach Part 2, maybe it makes more sense to make the first section #1 and not section 0 and just give everything its own section number. Just let me know if you want the first section to be 1 and not 0.
Dave

My sense is now, as I have pondered your response, that there will be chapters that will need to be divided into more than one section, the translator's long introduction included. So we may not be able to maintain a perfect correspondence between section and text numbers anyway. In that case, I guess it makes more sense to change 0 to 1. You buy this? I would do as you say of combining some things in what by this system would be Section 3. Jim
