Thanks!

Thank you, Sean. :D

Please lower the overall volume. It’s currently at 92.2dB. We aim for 89dB with an allowable range of 86-92dB.

18:10 - Missing text - Those who believe in efficient national control, on the other hand, do not in the least object to combinations; do not in the least object to concentration in business administration.

Please trim ending silence to ~ 5 seconds.

pardon the rookie question but what does the Tilda in front of 5 seconds mean? What length of silence do you need at hhe end? Thanks.

I believe it means approximately.

Yes, the ~ does mean 'approximately'. If the ending silence is anywhere between 4.5 and 6 seconds I won't say a word about it. Less that 4.5 seconds and your recording may end up being cut off during playback. More than 6 seconds and it's just too much silence for the listener before the next section begins.

Yes please, Linny. I would appreciate a link to my website, readingitself.com, which links to writingitself.com. Reading Itself is a page I've set up specifically on my podcast site to point to my narration work. The podcast itself is dying a somewhat natural death as my wife has taken over my office as she works from home.

Thanks! I'll have corrections tomorrow, Tuesday.

Profile has been updated. Sharing an office is no fun. I keep repeating..."This too shall pass." I sure hope it does.

Here's my file, Section 31, with corrections. Time is 33:28.

I volumed down. I'm not sure how to check the actual dB levels in Audacity, which I use to edit my work. (I record into a Tascam DR-40 portable recorder and transfer the files onto my computer where I edit in Audacity. Long way around, but my wife works most days here in our office - Covid-19 - and Tuesdays, all day, and Friday mornings are really the only times I have to put my work together. You use what you've got.

Anyway, let me know if the new levels work. And hints if you know how to check my volume level to the number in Audactiy.

Hello and welcome to LV! You should have received an introduction email with a link for conducting your preliminary test. The test is to check your recording settings to ensure you won't have technical issues once you record. Please post your preliminary test in the Listeners Wanted forum. Once you pass that then please come back and you may claim an available section at that time.

The pickup is spot check PL OK however you went too far on reducing the volume. Please amplify by 6dB.

I use the Checker to verify volume. It's a program made specifically for LV. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=36489

We have a ton of instructional videos here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos

This video shows you how to install Replay Gain into Audacity. I think that's the most likely option you are looking for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Uz900RNos&feature=youtu.be

Okay. Here again is section 31, which I believe now falls within the proper range for LibriVox recordings. I ran it through the checker.

Section 32 to follow.

Here is Section 32.

It is 26 Minutes, 30 seconds in length. (This is a painfully difficult read.)
