Hi Suzabelle,

Thank you! Please let me know what name you would like to use for your catalog page. It can be your real name, forum name, or a pseudonym ~ whatever you prefer.

I do need a text link and the run time of the file. :-)

Very nice recording. There is one technical issue. The bit rate is 96kbps and we need it to be 128kbs. Do you know how to fix that? Here is a video that one of our volunteers made on how to set the tech specs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8JkCgKo3fU&t=72s

Also, when you reupload, please name the file csw038_therealprincess_sb_128kb.mp3 (Where the sb is you can put whatever your initials are instead. I was just guessing with what you would use. :-)

Thank you, Catherine! Here is a link to your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/14802

Great job! The only issue is that the volume is too high at 99.2 DB. We ask that it be no higher than 92 DB (or lower than 86).
If you could deamplify it be about 7 DB, that would be great.

If you are using Audacity, and know how to amplify, just slide the slider into the negative range. If you need more help, please let me know!

Just one PL Note for "How the Whale Got It's Throat". For the intro, we do it a little differently in collections than a regular book
We don't repeat the story title and author at the end of the intro.

[Title of Work], by [Author Name]" "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox Recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit Librivox.org" ----- then into the story. :-)

Thank you! I have amplified it in the negative direction. Let me know if I need to de-amplify it more!

Also, how do I check the dB of my final recording to see if it is in the correct range?

Hello,

Here is my re-upload of Han's Christian Andersen's 'The Real Princess'.

https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw038_therealprincess_sb_128kb.mp3

The recording length is 2:60.

The story link is below:

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/1597/1597-h/1597-h.htm#link2H_4_0003

You may use my Forum name of Suzabelle for the folder. Can you please let me know where I will be able to find and access this folder once it's up?

Additionally, I have corrected the settings in my recording. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Just an FYI as a new volunteer; I am finding the site extremely difficult to navigate. Things seems to be dispersed all over without a continual flow. It is not user-friendly at all. I may need to volunteer in other areas that will be easier to access.

Thanks,
Suzabelle

Hi Catherine,

Thank you. Unfortunately now it is a bit too quiet. :-)

If you are using Audacity, the illustration on the 1 minute test page is a pretty good idea of what to aim for visually: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

You can check your technical settings, and the volume, yourself using this free tool that one of our volunteers made:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

Or, just to check the volume, you can download a program called mp3gain. We don't recommend you increase the volume in it, but just to use it to check it. :-)

Could you try one more time please!
